According to Chinese philosophy, the life force of the Universe is known as Chi. The universe is in a state of constant flow of this Chi around us. This flow is governed by descending yang chi from the Heavens and ascending yin chi from the earth. Yin and Yang are the basic energies of the universe. These two energies represent the female and the male energies and are opposite to each other. The well being of human beings depends upon a perfect balance and harmony between these two positive and negative energies. These yin and yang energies are represented by a yin - yang symbol as shown.
When this symbol is placed in any room or a work place, it helps in balancing the yin-yang energy of that place thereby making that place better for living or working.
